City Walk, Marina Walk, JBR Walk, Bluewaters Island and Madinat Jumeirah share design intended for walking — shaded retail, waterfront promenades, car-free stretches — which is different from simply being in a dense area. Downtown is walkable around the Burj area specifically rather than throughout the district, so walkable there means a smaller radius than the neighbourhood name suggests.
The comfortable window running roughly October to April is doing most of the work in any recommendation about walkability, since the same 3.5km Marina Walk promenade that feels pleasant across those months becomes something people drive past rather than use for the rest of the year. If you are choosing a home partly for walkable retail, weigh how much of the year you would actually use it against the months it works.
