About Dubai Practical

Dubai Practical is an independent, comprehensive guide to visiting, living, and working in Dubai — built by people who live here, for people who need real answers.

What Is Dubai Practical?

Dubai Practical is a free, independent reference guide to one of the world's most dynamic cities. Our mission is simple: give you accurate, actionable information about Dubai without the fluff, the sponsored content, or the outdated advice that plagues most travel and expat websites.

Whether you're arriving for a 3-day holiday, moving for a new job, launching a business, or considering Dubai as a long-term base — this site aims to be the first and last reference you need. We cover attractions, visas, cost of living, transportation, health, culture, business setup, food, neighborhoods, and dozens of practical how-to guides drawn from real experience in the city.

We do not sell tours, take advertising commissions, or accept payments from businesses we review. Every price, phone number, and piece of advice is researched independently and updated regularly.

Who Is This For?

Tourists & Visitors

Planning a first trip or returning for more. You need real attraction prices, transport tips, cultural do's and don'ts, and honest recommendations — not paid-for top-10 lists.

New Expats

Just arrived or about to move for work. You need to understand visas, banking, accommodation, schools, healthcare, and how to get your Emirates ID — all in one place, explained clearly.

Digital Nomads & Freelancers

Working remotely and considering Dubai as a base. You need to understand the freelance visa, cost of living realities, co-working options, internet quality, and tax implications.

Business Owners & Entrepreneurs

Looking to set up a company, explore free zones, understand VAT, or hire staff. You need practical, current information — not vague government leaflets.

Families Relocating

Moving with children and navigating school applications, family visas, healthcare, and finding the right neighbourhood. Dubai is extremely family-friendly — this guide helps you find your footing.

Long-term Residents

Already living in Dubai but navigating a new situation — renewing a visa, buying property, starting a business, understanding new laws. Dubai changes fast and this guide keeps pace.

Our Mission

The internet has no shortage of Dubai content — travel blogs, YouTube vlogs, government portals, real estate sites, and tour operator pages. But most of it is either incomplete, commercially motivated, impossibly outdated, or buried under layers of SEO filler. Dubai Practical exists to fix that.

Practical, not promotional

We tell you what things actually cost, what works and what doesn't, and what the real experiences are — not just what hotels and attractions want you to hear.

Comprehensive, not curated

We don't do "top 5" lists. We cover everything — every attraction, every visa type, every neighbourhood, every possible situation — so you can make informed decisions.

Regularly updated

Dubai changes rapidly. Prices shift, laws are updated, new attractions open, old ones close. We review and update content as things change — not once and never again.

Written for humans, not search engines

We write the way an informed friend who lives in Dubai would explain things to you. Clear, direct, honest — with the details that actually matter.

We're Building the Best Dubai Guide on the Internet

That's a bold claim, but it's genuinely what we're trying to do. If you've found this site useful, share it with someone who's moving to or visiting Dubai.
